Wanna make a better choice for your family? Sodastream Review

Have you given any thought to making better drink choices for your family? I know, theoretically, we all only give our kids 100% fresh squeezed juice and purified aquifer water, but face it - they drink soda, and juices made from concentrate, and yes: sports drinks!

If you're ready for an alternative, the Sodastream is for you. The Sodastream is a Home Carbonation System that let's you make carbonated soda right in your home. Nutrition labels are easy to read and available on each flavor bottle as well as on the website.

The folks at Sodastream allowed me to try out a Home Carbonation System! My kids were so excited! We got it all out of the package, and the first thing we noted was how many different flavors are available - there is more than one to appeal to everyone's tastes. Even the hardest to please person will be appeased.

The instructions were so easy to follow, and we were ready to start making soda in a snap. We assembled our test tasting group, which consisted of Grandma, two Aunts, 5 kids and me, and we issued out tasting cups. Both flavors, ginger ale and rootbeer, far exceeded the expectations of the group. Rootbeer even received a thumbs up for rootbeer float assembly!

Since I am more of a tea and flavored water drinker, next we tried a sparkling water mix. I used the berry syrup mix to make a berry spritzer - and I was hooked!

The best things about the Sodastream were that it was so easy to use even a child could do it on their own; and that there is virtually no clean up. No half full can's sitting around the house and when they ask for soda I can feel good about what they are getting. They have so many flavors available - regular flavors and sparkling water, diet flavors;  And there are even Country Time and Crystal Light flavors available!

  2. I bet it is really good. I love soda but it must be fresh. I hate flat soda. I am addicted to the burn. How long does the carbonation last?

    1. Hey Dlo - We have had a bottle in the frig for a week so far and the carbonation was still fine. The plus is that you can always put it back on the Sodastream and re-carbonate if you want! Also, you are making your soda in quantities that allow you to choose to start fresh if that's your desire. I love it.

  4. This sounds very interesting and would be fun to have. I like that you can regulate how much carbonation goes into your drinks, (I'm not a fan of lots of bubbles!)

  6. I love our SodaStream! I knew they had Crystal Light, but I didn't know about the Country Time lemonade! I need to do some scouring and see what goodies I can come up with! :) I love the ease and accessibility it gives me without having to send hubby to the store for a coke! :)
